Hair loss: when to see a doctor and which treatments help

On average we lose 50-100 hairs a day - that is normal renewal. It is time to see a doctor when the hair becomes noticeably thinner, the parting widens and clumps stay on the brush.
Why hair falls out
- stress, illness, fever or rapid weight loss - shedding often starts 2-3 months later;
- low iron, vitamin D or protein;
- hormonal changes: after childbirth, thyroid problems, menopause;
- hereditary (androgenetic) hair loss;
- harsh colouring, tight hairstyles, hot styling tools.
Where to start
First, find the cause. At the consultation I examine the scalp and hair, ask about your health and, if needed, suggest blood tests: full blood count, ferritin, vitamin D, thyroid hormones. Sometimes an endocrinologist or gynaecologist is needed too.
Treatments that help
Once medical causes are ruled out or being treated, scalp injections support the follicles. I work with HBloom, Dutaboost, peptide Hair Booster, Plinest Hair, Dr.CYJ Hair Filler, Million Hair, as well as PRP and scalp microneedling. I choose the product and plan individually, usually a course of 4-6 sessions.
What to expect
Hair grows slowly: less shedding is noticeable after 1-2 months and new growth after 3-6 months. It is important to finish the course and maintain the result.
