PRP therapy: how rejuvenation with your own plasma works

PRP therapy: how rejuvenation with your own plasma works

PRP therapy (platelet-rich plasma) is a treatment in which plasma enriched with platelets from your own blood is injected into the skin. Platelets carry growth factors - natural signals that trigger tissue repair.

How the plasma is prepared

A small amount of blood is taken from a vein, as for a routine test. The tube is spun in a centrifuge: the blood separates into layers, and the upper part - plasma with a high platelet concentration - is used. Everything happens on the spot, in sterile single-use tubes.

Who it suits

  • face, neck, décolleté: dull, tired skin, fine lines, post-acne, recovery after other treatments;
  • scalp: hair loss and thinning - after a consultation and ruling out medical causes;
  • anyone who prefers a treatment without third-party products - the material is entirely your own.

The course

Usually 3-5 sessions 2-4 weeks apart, then maintenance. The effect builds up: the skin gradually becomes fresher and denser, the hair stronger. Results vary because they depend on your body.

When it is not done

PRP is not performed with blood disorders and clotting problems, acute infections and inflammation, cancer, pregnancy, or while taking certain medicines. That is why I always take a medical history first and may ask for blood tests.
